Science as a Way of Knowing
- Science is a continuous process
- Science begins with observation
- Deals with statements that can be disproved

Variables
- Dependent Variable: It's results are determined by other variables
- Independent Variable: Does NOT depend on other variables
- Manipulated Variable: the independent variable because it can be toyed with
- Responding Variable: Dependent variable because it will respond to change

Controlled Experiment
- An experiment that has one or more control and experimental groups.
Repeatability
Data
- Quantitative: numerical
-Qualitative: non-numerical
-Qualitative: non-numerical
Scientific Method
- Make an observation and ask a question
- Based on that observation create a hypothesis
- Design an experiment to answer the question
- Collect data
- Do some more observing (be sure to take notes)
- Make a conclusion
- Compare conclusion to hypothesis
- If wrong make adjustments, but if you're right repeat it to make sure you're right
- If you're experiment is a success present it to other scientist!
